It’s not like inside a close-knit department in the corporate world, where the unsaid conflict between Do-young and Ki-hyun comes right to the table in Chapter 27, making all attempts to be strangers impossible.

The chapter begins with Ki-hyun showing up suddenly late to the office. Before he walked through the door, Do-young, as part of their team, had been informing Seong-hoon of Ki-hyun’s lateness.

When Ki-hyun arrives, though, Team Leader Seong-hoon is instantly aware of the sparks that crackle between the two.

Observing how stiffly they interact, Seong-hoon asks outright if Ki-hyun and Do-young had known each other for a long time prior to joining the company.

But Ki-hyun responds with a stone-faced, abrupt “no” instead of the proper way to do so, which is to say they have never met him before.
